Spring Paddocks Equine Clinic has 2 ultrasound units, which are capable of imaging tendons, ligaments, reproductive tracts, synovial structures, soft tissue and certain bony structures.

We are able to image structures at varying depths within the body, which is useful for diagnosing pelvic fractures and sacro-iliac strains etc, as the probe may be used both internally and externally within the pelvis.

Ultrasound examination can also be used for emergency diagnostic work, such as colic cases and is used widely in equine lameness cases to evaluate soft tissue structures of limbs. These images can then be stored electronically.
